LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born on December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). King James, he's widely considered to be the most successful player of all-time and often is compared with Michael Jordan during debates about the greatest basketball player of all time. James has been the recipient of four NBA Championships as well as Four NBA MVP Awards and Four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He has also won the distinction of having two Olympic Gold Medals. James holds the record for the highest score of points in the postseason, second highest overall career score and 7th the most assists in his career. He has been selected an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times, and was named on be named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. Ten NBA Finals is the most ever before, with eight of them in succession between the years 2011-2018. In 2018 He was also picked to join The NBA 75th Anniversary team. In 2021 James was selected to be part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, and in 2022 he became the first athlete of NBA history to score at least 10,000 career points in rebounds and assists. James played basketball for St. Vincent-St. Mary High in Akron Ohio, where he was raised. National media touted James as a future NBA star. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the first pick of the NBA draft in 2003. He was voted one of the NBA rookie of the year in 2004. Then he was one of the top players in the NBA as he won the NBA MVP Award twice in as of 2009 and in 2010. James, who did not win the championship in Cleveland in 2010, was released as a free agent and joined the Miami Heat. This was made clear by the book The Decision. It is one of the most controversial decisions made by a free agent in sports time.
